Sensual songs and sexual harassment are
very close. Ravi failed to distinguish them and became a rapper who did sexual
harassment. Singers have freedom to make a sensual song. But, in case it
targets particular person, it is not a song but sexual harassment. Ravi was embroiled in controversy of sexual
harassment with his own song, ‘RED VELVET’ that was included
in his new album, ‘ROSES’ that released on 3rd,
June. This is the song that was made while saying that "Because this song

Ravi brought up the image of the girl
group ‘Red Velvet’ by using members’ names like Soo
Yeong(swimming, JOY’s real name), YERI(to
be sharp) and also ‘Red Velvet’’s
song ‘RUSSIAN ROULETTE’, ‘Dumb
Dumb’. Moreover, he used words of ‘drip’, ‘flip’, ‘sweat’ and do on that used
in sexual meaning in POP. It has sexual intentions obviously and the word are
even undisguised. RAVI’s ‘Red Velvet’ was definitely sexual harassment without
any doubt. Because of this lyrics, ‘Red Velvet’ became the victim of sexual
harassment even they have no relationship with Ravi. In case of such songs, it
has a chance to cause secondary violence not being end up as just a controversy.
So it was natural to fans of ‘Red Velvet’ got angry.
Ravi released the official statement in
the afternoon on 4th and admitted his fault fast and apologized. And also, he
said he will remove the problematic song. Ravi said "To my shame, while
making the song, I didn’t realize that many people can feel uncomfortable with
this lyrics.". How careless! He’s lack of gender sensitization.
Let me ask Ravi. Did you feel fun while
writing the lyrics? Didn’t you think it will be a controversy despite you
released this song that has intentional meaning. If so, it’s time to think
carefully about Ravi’s ability and the future of GROOVL1N that Ravi leads. If
there are no staffs to judge and check whether it is problematic, GROOVL1N is an
agency that in a lot of lack.
Ravi said that "When I write
lyrics, I put my story in it like reading books.” Ravi should widen his
knowledge more before he writes lyrics like reading books. If Ravi wants to
become a singer with both of sense and musicality, he needs to build up his
