We bring you useful information and news from Hive! Greetings from Hive Platform!
For users who have enjoyed games for a long time, their characters and items are not just data, but valuable assets built through time and effort.
However, hacking and account takeover attempts targeting these assets are becoming increasingly sophisticated, which can lead to user churn and operational burden.
Now, prevention that blocks risky access in advance is becoming more important than responding after a breach occurs.
In this Hive Insight,
we introduce two Hive security features that provide users with trust in account protection and operators with a proactive response environment. |

🛡️ Account Security Managed by Users Themselves |
🔒 First Lock: Device Management |
A security method that allows login only from approved devices
Designated Device is an optional security enhancement service that lets users designate and register the devices they will use to log in. When device management is enabled in Hive Console, a pop-up prompting users to enroll in device management is automatically displayed once upon app launch, allowing users to naturally proceed with security setup. |
▪️Mobile phone number-based verification When enrolling in the service, users register a mobile phone number to confirm that they are the actual owner.
▪️Fundamental prevention of account takeover Login is not allowed from unregistered devices, structurally preventing account takeover.
▪️Device registration limit management In Console App Center, you can set the number of devices that can be registered per account for each game. Once the limit is reached, additional device registration is restricted.
▪️Optional security feature Provided as an optional feature rather than a required setting, allowing users to strengthen security as needed. |
🔒 Second Lock: Overseas Login Block |
A security feature that restricts access based on the login country
A significant portion of account theft occurs through overseas IP addresses. By applying Hive's profile feature to your app, users can instantly activate Overseas Login Block to prevent access from regions outside their login country. |
▪️IP-based access control
Hive's global infrastructure determines the access region and blocks access from countries that are not permitted.
▪️Account protection through overseas access blocking
This is an initial security feature that blocks abnormal access from overseas IP addresses, reduces large-scale attacks and abuse attempts, and lowers account security risks.
▪️User control feature
Users can enable or disable this feature directly from the profile settings screen. |
