This week we're going back to our TEUGETHER roots and learning Korean from K-pop lyrics! I have some of your suggestions so I'll be teaching you some phrases and translating the lyrics~

The ones who've seen 25 21 KNOWWW this song and honestly I still really enjoy listening to this song because it makes my mood 100% better! Let's look at the lyrics~

์กด์žฌ๋งŒ์œผ๋กœ (jon-jae-man-eu-ro) 

Let's break down the lyrics:
  • ๋„Œ: you 
  • ๋‚ : me 
  • ๋น›๋‚˜๊ฒŒ: shine 
  • ํ•ด: do, make 
  • ์กด์žฌ: existence 
  • ๋งŒ์œผ๋กœ: with only 

Okay it might not make a lot of sense with just the translation but this lyric means "you make me shine, with just your existence" SO romantic right?!
The phrase that I want you guys to learn from this lyric is "์กด์žฌ๋งŒ์œผ๋กœ (jon-jae-man-eu-ro)" which means "with just your existence" or "by just existing." It is a pretty common phrase to use but definitely not taught in textbooks! ๐Ÿ“š

If your friend tells you "sorry we weren't able to go somewhere nice this weekend" you can respond "no, even you being here is enough -- "์กด์žฌ๋งŒ์œผ๋กœ ์ถฉ๋ถ„ํ•ด!" ์ถฉ๋ถ„ํ•ด (choong-boon-hae) means enough! โค๏ธ
02. Christmas Tree - V ๐ŸŽ„
Another classic drama OST that I LOVE! And in the spirit of Christmas I guess we have to do this one! This one might be a little shocking for y'all cuz most of the song is English but there is ONE phrase I really want to teach you!

This is a SIMILE! So I wanted you to learn this lyric and maybe even be able to use it some day! 

Let's break down the lyrics:
  • ํ•œ์—ฌ๋ฆ„๋ฐค: a midsummer's night 
  • ์˜ค๋Š”: coming, falling (in this case) 
  • ์ฒซ๋ˆˆ: first snow 
  • ๊ฐ™์ด: like 

This phrase means "like snow falling on a midsummer's night" which is a phrase that is used to depict something miraculous~ The next lyric talks about a miracle which is ๊ธฐ์  in Korean !!! I thought that this lyric was super romantic and deep and I wanted you guys to learn it because it is a simile! โค๏ธ

Let's break down the lyrics: 
  • ๋งค์ผ: everyday 
  • ์ž ๋“ค๊ธฐ: falling asleep
  • ์ „์—: before 
  • ๊ทธ๋ฆฌ๊ณ : and
  • ๋˜: again 
  • ์•„์นจ์—: in the morning  

Can you guess what this phrase means?! I'm sure you already got it! If you guessed "before I fall asleep every night and again in the morning" you were right! So this lyric is talking about when you can't get someone off of your mind! So you can use this phrase for anything you do constantly (before falling asleep and when you wake up) Each of the words separately are really good to know as well! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Especially "๊ทธ๋ฆฌ๊ณ " which can help you form lists in Korean!!!
