Busan Story Market 2026

Unveils 25 Official Selections from

Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia

Original IPs Across Asia Pair Universal Emotions with Fresh Genre Imagination

The Busan Story Market (BSM) of the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM)—where every story begins—has revealed its 25 official selections for 2026.

BSM is a global marketplace and networking hub for original IP, bringing together film and audiovisual industry professionals and content platforms from around the world. It presents original IP with strong audiovisual adaptation potential—including books, webtoons, web novels, and stories—and facilitates secondary rights deals that can lead to expansion across multiple platforms.

This year’s lineup comprises 15 IPs from Korea, four each from Taiwan and Japan, and two from Indonesia. Selected through official submissions, the Korean IPs are driven by imaginative genre concepts and diverse subject matter, with strong potential for expansion into audiovisual content.

Taiwan and Japan, both key players in the IP industry, selected their IPs in collaboration with Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) respectively. The Taiwanese selections stand out for their fresh high concept ideas, while the Japanese lineup offers nuanced portrayals of how characters and relationships change in stories centered on secrets and obsessions. Representing Indonesia, two standout genre comics selected from the 2025 JAFF Content Market will participate in BSM as official selections. In partnership with JAFF Market, one of the Korean IPs selected for BSM will also participate in JAFF IP Connection in Indonesia this November, continuing the exchange of original IP between Korea and Indonesia.

The 25 official selections will connect with industry professionals at BSM 2026 from 10 to 13 October through business meetings to explore a wide range of IP expansion and audiovisual adaptation opportunities, while featured Korean IPs will be presented at BSM Pitch & Match.

Before the event, Market Badge holders may request business meetings with the official selections through advance reservations. This allows them to connect more efficiently with publishers, content companies, production companies, investors, and other industry professionals.
