Course Outline

Location: In-person at the center & Selected classes online

Target Audience: This program is open to all adults aged 18 and above who are physically residing in Seoul during the semester with a valid long-term stay visa. Proof of residence (address side of your residence card) is required for both online and in-person courses.

Tuition Fee: Free of charge. However, students are required to purchase their own textbooks.

What to Prepare for the Application:
✔️ A Google account (required for online application)
✔️ A photo of the back side of your residence card
* If you cannot submit your residence card, you may submit one of the following alternative documents (1 or 2):
  1. Visa grant notice AND a document proving your residency in Seoul
  2. Certification of application for permit of stay

Application Procedure:
  1. Submit the application form online or visit the center to complete in person.
  2. A link to the level test will be sent via email within a few days.
  3. Complete and submit the level test.
  4. Wait for the confirmation email to arrive in your inbox.
  Note: Application must be completed before taking the level test. First-time applicants are required to take a level test (except for those applying for Level 1A first part, the absolute beginner level). The test will be conducted online.

   September 22nd 2025 10:00 - September 30th 2025 18:00 
  (first come, first served basis)

General Rules:
✔️ As a general rule, students can only take one class per semester.
✔️ Students cannot enroll in a class below or above their current language level.

First Week Adjustment:
The first week of the semester is an adjustment period. You may be asked by your teacher to move to another class depending on your actual language proficiency.
Applicable Rules and Regulations 

Student Evaluation Process:
 To advance to the next level, students MUST achieve a total weighted average score of 70/100. This score is composed of 50% participation and 50% combined scores from the mid-term and final exams. Students who meet this requirement will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to register for the next level in the following semester.

Please note that re-enrollment is not automatic at Seorae Global Village Center. You must register for each semester yourself after reviewing the available course offerings.


Attendance Rules:
✔️ No-show Policy: If you miss 4 consecutive classes without prior notice, you will be automatically withdrawn from the class and will not be able to register for the next level.

✔️ Excused absences: Absences for *valid reasons will not be counted toward your participation rate.
 *Valid reasons include: accident, illness, family emergencies, medical appointments, immigration office visits, business trips, job interviews, and other urgent matters. Vacation or leisure travel is not considered a valid reason for absence.

✔️ Impact of Absences: Invalid absences will affect your participation rate, which is one of the factors used to determine your eligibility to progress to the next semester. 

✔️ Repeated Withdrawals: If you have a history of frequent withdrawals during a semester, your application for re-enrollment may be denied. 

✔️ Advance Notice for Absences: If you cannot attend a class or need to leave early, please inform your teacher or a staff member in advance. 
* If you plan to be consistently late or need to leave early throughout the semester, please avoid applying for the course.

✔️ Tardiness and Early Departure: If you are late or leave class early without notice three times, these instances will be counted as an absence. 

✔️ Late Policy: Being late means arriving 1-10 minutes after the class begins. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may not be allowed to enter the class, and this will be considered a no-show. 

Other Information:
✔️ Certificate Use: The certificate issued by the center is no recognized for official purposes. It cannot be used as evidence of completed education when applying for a visa or residence card. 
It is ineffective as an evidence of completion of education when applying for a visa or a residence card.

✔️ Naturalization or Permanent Residency: If you are considering applying for naturalization or permanent residency, you will need the KIIP completion certificate or KIIP report card.
