it can for shopkeepers?

*Bae Jae-hong is the General Secretary of the National Association of Retail Merchants

Like the rest of the world, South Korea is also experiencing economic difficulties due to COVID-19. In Korea, resentment among shopkeepers is increasing. This is because the government's measures for shopkeepers are not enough while the latter have to bear great financial losses due to the government's social distancing measures. [December Progressive Forum]
How Vaccine Inequity and Injustice Created Omicron

At a time when universal access to vaccines is the starting point towards any level of normalcy, pharmaceutical companies hold our well-being hostage for higher profits, pressuring governments into onerous contracts that infringe national sovereignty and limit global vaccine access. As most of the world’s poorest remain unvaccinated, Pfizer, BioNTech and Moderna together profit $1,000 every second. Their inaction and greed perpetuates a pandemic that creates ever more contagious strains such as Omicron. To discuss how to dismantle vaccine inequity and injustice and finally resolve the COVID19 pandemic is Fatima Hassen, co-founder and director of the Health Justice Initiative.
