Global Rotations, World Research Trend, 2025 CHI Award Taejae University Students Wins Top Honors at 2025 CHI Academic Conference |

A student team consisting of Dahee Chun, Dawit Chun, Lina Jellibi, and Yoonmin Cha from Taejae University has won the grand prize in the Student Design Competition category at the 2025 CHI (Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems), one of the world's most prestigious international academic conferences. |
|
|
CHI is the most influential conference in the field of human-computer interaction, attracting over 3,000 participants annually. This year's conference was held in Yokohama, Japan, with a total of 84 teams from leading universities worldwide participating in the Student Design Competition. |
|
|
Under the guidance of Professor Sungjun Park (School of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence) from Taejae University, the student team won the grand prize for their project titled “Watch-Out: Real-Time Tracking and Assistance for Wandering Alzheimer's Patients Using Wearable Technology.” This study implemented a real-time location tracking and assistance system for Alzheimer's patients using wearable technology and was even published in the official CHI proceedings. |

The Taejae University student team faced stiff competition against teams from world-renowned universities such as Georgia Tech, the University of Michigan, UCLA, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and University College London. They were highly praised for their creativity and methodology during the final round’s oral presentation, earning themselves the conference’s top honors. |

Taejae University's First Global Rotation Campus Visit to Japan |

Taejae Academy Chairman Kim Doh-yeon and Taejae University President Yeom Jae-ho recently paid a visit to Japan, the first destination in “the Global Rotations.” The two met with the first group of Taejae University students studying at Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS) in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and offered words of encouragement. |

After signing an MOU with KUIS, Taejae University sent the inaugural group of students in April. The students are participating in “Civic Projects” alongside Japanese students, developing critical thinking and practical skills through hands-on problem-solving in local communities—an approach that differs from traditional classroom instruction. |
|
|
The Global Rotations sends all undergraduate students to major cities in countries such as China, Japan, and the United States on a semester or annual basis. Students experience practical learning by identifying real-world problems in each city and exploring potential solutions. One Taejae University student shared, “I feel that I am really growing through hands-on learning in the field.” 🌏 |

Taejae University Ranks Inside Top 20
in Three Categories of the 2025 WURI Innovation University Rankings |

Taejae University has been named inside the top 20 globally in three categories of the 2025 WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation) rankings. |
|
|
Taejae University ranked 13th in the Empowerment-Based Management category, 19th in Visionary Leadership, and 19th in Technology Development and Application, receiving international recognition for the excellence of its innovative education system. |
|
|
WURI is a new university evaluation system that focuses on assessing the actual impact of university-level innovation programs on society through a comprehensive review that measures creativity, practicality, and social contribution. This year, Minerva University in the United States secured the top spot in the overall rankings. |
|
|
Taejae University is committed to pursuing innovation with the goals of ‘cultivating creative leaders’ and ‘achieving member-centered operations.’ As a result of these efforts, Taejae earned 13th place in the Empowerment-Based Management category, with WURI speaking highly of the way in which the university respects the autonomy and participation of members. |
