On my usual commute, I stumbled upon a lone sunflower blooming at the corner of an alley filled with discarded trash. I had always thought of that spot as messy, with its overgrown leaves and tangled greenery. But seeing the sunflower standing tall made me pause. Was my predictable daily routine making my life feel mundane and meaningless? In truth, much like that sunflower, I, too, am constantly changing, even if I don’t notice it.

Not a single day passes by without meaning. Even the act of simply getting through the day holds significance. Just like that sunflower, we are all living and growing in our own ways.

Today, I step outside again, ready to embrace the subtle changes in my everyday life.

🎧 Yerin Baek - “HOMESWEETHOME”(Yoon Seokcheol Remix)

Listening to Baek Yerin’s clear, soothing voice on my way to work always seems to wash away my fatigue. This remix by Yoon Seokcheol adds a laid-back, romantic bossa nova touch, making it the kind of song you turn to when you need a little pick-me-up. The playful rhythm in the intro will likely win you over instantly.

places we walked
A tiny park in the neighborhood is so small, it barely qualifies as a park. Moss often covers the ground due to the dense greenery, but it serves as a perfect walking trail for local seniors. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some adorable stray cats lounging around. Sitting alone on a bench in the early morning, listening to the rustling leaves, you can almost feel your worries fade away.
When I lived in Donggyo-dong, I often took late-night walks along Gyeongui Line Book Street. A mix of dedicated joggers, dog walkers, and people heading home after a night out in Hongdae keeps this place lively. On nights when I overate at dinner or struggled with insomnia, I would walk along this street.

Home Cocktail Recipe

The 101% Negroni is a magic spell designed to ward off the dreaded Monday blues.

When work feels unbearable, and your emotions run high, this cocktail is a way to reset.

1% of a single drop of luck squeezed from an orange bitter, 30% of the inevitable burdens of life, 30% of the effort we put in, and the last 30% of the optimism that keeps us going.

Lastly, the remaining few percent?

A mix of joy, regret, and the realization that these emotions make life truly fulfilling.

"Drink and sleep it off."

- Eugene

How to Make It:

  1. Squeeze a dash of orange bitter.
  2. Add 5ml of Cointreau.
  3. Pour in 5ml of freshly squeezed orange juice.
  4. Add 30ml of Campari.
  5. Pour 30ml of gin (the choice of gin changes the flavor, but Gordon’s is a solid classic).
  6. Add 30ml of sweet vermouth.

Stir 10–20 times with clear ice in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled old-fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Finish with a twist of orange peel.

This is grds’ take on the classic Negroni. While the standard ratio is 1:1:1, we’ve crafted a more approachable version for first-timers, adding orange bitters, Cointreau (a herbal liqueur made from orange peels), and fresh orange juice for a refreshing twist.

1% luck

5% joy
