Charlie’s Big Red House in Gwnaggyo has truly been a second home to me in Korea. I have had so many wonderful experiences with so many different and wonderful children who have come to our school throughout the years and I have taught beside so many outstanding teachers here. I have been proud to be part of Charlie’s Big Red House ever since our school first opened in Gwnaggyo all those years ago. I remember walking down the halls of this beautiful school in awe, seeing all of these massive windows looking out onto the stunning lake park, with large classrooms, and I was shocked such an English Academy could even exist. Not only was the inside of the school welcoming and warm to our precious children but it was clear that the overall theme of Charlie’s Big Red House stood out amongst the rest, in that our school truly takes pride in teaching children with joy. Not only does our school focus on academic success but since the start, our school has stood strong on the basis that children’s happiness should be as equal and as important as the children’s academic success and I have took great pride in working to apply these ideals. I am so proud to be a teacher here, where we embrace our children with love, and with laughter, where our children tell us they cannot wait to come to school each day, where our children grow to speak like native English speakers, that they are able to learn English teachers all over the world, truly opening their minds to the world out there. I am so proud of our school’s diversity but my strongest pride in working here, am that I can say confidently that Charlie’s Big Red House has completely succeeded in bringing joy to learning a second language and have done so each and every year. Charlie’s Big Red House is truly a special place to have found and I cannot speak more highly of our school, of our education system, of our hard working teachers, and especially the lovely children we have the privilege to teach each year. I am so proud to have been a part of this school for so long and I look forward to many more years here.
