《맑고 투명하고 깨어 있는》을 기획한 큐레이터 추스 마르티네스는 오늘날 사회적, 경제적 문제 상황 속에서 우리는 탈출을 꿈꿀 것이 아니라, 공존의 가능성을 살피는 도구와 기술을 만들고 어린아이와 같은 순수함을 되살릴 필요가 있다고 말합니다. 구전된 전통, 민속, 허구를 활용하여 기록된 역사와는 다른 서사를 펼쳐내고, 시간과 장소, 자연과 사람과의 관계를 순수한 시각으로 바라보는 이번 스페인 현대 미술 전시에 많은 관심 바랍니다!
Chus Martínez, who curated Clear, Lucid and Awake, states that in today’s context of social and economic challenges, we should not dream of escape, but rather create tools and techniques for exploring the possibilities of coexistence and revive a childlike sense of purity. The exhibition weaves a narrative distinct from recorded history through oral traditions, folklore, and fiction, inviting us to view time and place, and the relationship between nature and people, with a renewed sense of innocence. 전시장에서 관람객을 가장 처음 마주하는 작업은 총 8개의 부분으로 구성되어 있는 태피스트리 작업 <퍼포먼스 다섯 극을 위한 매뉴얼>입니다. 태피스트리 속 인물들은 과연 누구일까요? 호미를 들고 독립운동에 나선 제주 해녀 부춘화, 김옥련, 부덕량과 섬유공장 여성 노동자의 삶을 기록으로 남긴 신순애 등 여성 노동자들의 모습을 전시장에서 직접 만나 보세요!
The first work that greets visitors in the exhibition space is A Performance Manual for the Five Acts, composed of eight sections. Who are the figures depicted in the tapestry? Come face to face with women workers such as Bu Chun-hwa, Kim Ok-ryeon, and Bu Deok-ryang—Jeju haenyeo who took up hoes and joined the independence movement—as well as Shin Soon-ae, who documented the lives of women working in textile factories. |

<다섯 극>은 한국 근현대 여성 노동사의 이야기를 중심으로 펼쳐지는 즉흥 퍼포먼스입니다. 기생 출신 독립 운동가 현계옥, 제주 해녀 부춘화, 청계피복노조 신순애 등 한국 근현대 여성 노동사의 이야기가 네 명의 동작 퍼포머와 한 명의 드러머에 의해 소환됩니다. 전시 기간 중 단 세번 밖에 남지 않은 퍼포먼스를 놓치지 마세요!

Young In Hong‘s Five Acts comes alive through five powerful performances. Stories of Hyun Kyeok(gisaeng turned independence activist), Bu Chunhwa(haenyeo who led anti-Japanese protests in Jeju), and Shin Soonae(a leader of the Cheonggye Garment Workers’ Union) - embroidered into a 40-meter-tapestry return to the present as acts of resistance and remembrance.
