"The home and community-based 'smart health city' model, in which information collected by digital devices is linked to the local healthcare system through AI technology, is key to the future healthcare system," said Dr. Hong Yoon-Cheol, Professor at Seoul National University's College of Medicine and the forum's keynote speaker. |

Industry experts shared their experiences in the field, as well. "Clinically speaking, the accuracy of diagnosis for malignant lung nodules and breast cancer increases with the use of AI, compared to diagnosis by specialists alone," said Park Sun-young, head of business strategy at Lunit. Similarly, Rha Gun-ho, head of the NAVER Healthcare Research Institute, touted the increased efficiency afforded by an AI-based service used at the company hospital, Naver Care, which helps with primary analysis and medical note-taking.
Nonetheless, all the panelists expressed deep concerns about the potential dangers of generative AI taking on the role of cyber primary care physician. They emphasized the importance of ensuring complementary relations between humans and technology, especially in matters involving human life, as well as rooting the interaction between AI and the real world squarely in the societal standards and data of the time.
Toward the end of the discussion, Kang Sung-ji, CEO of Welt, who served as a panelist, asked, "how do we teach and manage our children who are smarter than us?" This prompts us to think about how and to what extent we will trust answers put forth by AI once it surpasses us. Only after we give it sufficient consideration, will we be able to truly embrace AI in our effort to build a better world.

On April 3, the Taejae Future Consensus Institute hosted a public forum, ”The Age of AI and the Future of Global Security.” The eighth UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon delivered the keynote address, in which he warned against the dangers of AI technology without proper human control and urged global security cooperation to ensure sustainable development.
Won-soo Kim, Chair of the International Advisory Board at Taejae FCI, noted that “it is crucial to build international consensus on responsible state behavior in the military use of AI.” The panelists discussed varying approaches to ensuring responsible state behavior in the military domain and agreed on the need for active dialogue between government and the private sector.
