Young In Hong’s solo exhibition, Young In Hong: Five Acts & A Monologue, featuring tapestry, sound, and performance, will be presented alongside Clear, Lucid, and Awake, an exhibition of works from the TBA21 (Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary) collection in Madrid, Spain. Five Acts will be performed five times during the exhibition period, and public programs for Clear, Lucid, and Awake will take place on May 10 and 11! |

홍영인 작가의 첫 번째 국내 미술관 개인전 《홍영인: 다섯 극과 모놀로그》가 개최됩니다. 전시는 원형의 태피스트리와 동물 장난감의 형상을 한 조각들, 그리고 다섯 번의 즉흥 퍼포먼스로 이루어진 <다섯 극>(2024/2025)과 사운드 설치 신작 <우연한 낙원>(2025)으로 구성됩니다. 작가가 환기시킨 역사적 장면들은 길이 40미터의 태피스트리에 수놓아져 있습니다. 한국 여성 노동자들의 이야기는 전시 기간 중 다섯 번의 퍼포먼스를 통해 현재의 감각으로 되살아날 예정입니다.
Young In Hong's first solo exhibition at a Korean art museum, Young In Hong: Five Acts & A Monologue, will be held. The exhibition features Five Acts (2024/2025) — consisting of circular tapestries, sculptures in the shape of animal toys, and five improvised performances — alongside a new sound installation, Accidental Paradise (2025). Historical scenes evoked by the artist are embroidered onto a 40-meter-long tapestry. Stories of Korean women workers will be revived with contemporary resonance through five performances held during the exhibition period. |

전시 기간 중 다섯 번 진행되는 <다섯 극>은 네 명의 동작 퍼포머와 한 명의 드러머가 태피스트리와 조각에 반응하는 즉흥 퍼포먼스입니다. 작가는 퍼포머들에게 한국 근대화 과정에서 소외되어 왔던 여성 노동자들의 역사를 재연하도록 안내합니다. 드럼을 연주하는 퍼포머는 태피스트리 하단에 새겨진 동물을 연상하게 하는 추상적인 모양을 악보 삼아 퍼포먼스의 리듬을 구성합니다. 동작 퍼포머들은 드럼 소리에 반응하는 동시에, 태피스트리에 상단에 수놓아진 내러티브를 몸으로 체득하여 즉흥적으로 움직입니다.

Five Acts, presented five times throughout the exhibition, is an improvisational performance in which four movement performers and one drummer respond to the tapestries and props.
The artist guides the performers to reenact the histories of women workers who were marginalized during Korea’s modernization process. The drummer uses the abstract shapes, reminiscent of animals, embroidered along the bottom of the tapestry as a kind of score to construct the rhythm of the performance. Meanwhile, the movement performers react to the sound of the drum while embodying the narratives stitched into the upper part of the tapestry, translating them into spontaneous movements. |

TBA21의 소장품을 중심으로 구성된 전시 《맑고 투명하고 깨어 있는》이 아트선재센터 더그라운드와 스페이스1에서 개최됩니다. 전시 제목인 ‘맑고 투명하고 깨어 있는’은 티베트의 수행자 닥포 타시 남걀의 『자성의 본래성을 밝히다』 속 구절로, 문화적 연대감의 중요성을 환기시킵니다. 이번 전시는 인간과 자연의 역동적인 관계를 보여주는 10명 작가의 작품을 통해 함께 전지구적 문제를 함께 사유하고자 합니다.
The exhibition Clear, Lucid, and Awake, centered around works from the TBA21 collection, is being held at The Ground and Space 1 of Art Sonje Center. The title Clear, Lucid, and Awake is drawn from a passage in Clarifying the Natural State by the Tibetan practitioner Dakpo Tashi Namgyal, evoking the importance of cultural connectedness. Through works by ten artists that explore the dynamic relationship between humans and nature, the exhibition invites viewers to contemplate pressing global issues together.

《맑고 투명하고 깨어 있는》 퍼블릭 프로그램이 5월 10일과 11일, 양일간 진행됩니다. 10일에는 전시를 기획한 추스 마르티네스의 강연을 시작으로, 벨렌 로드리게스, 아순시온 몰리노스 고르도, 디에고 델라스, 다니엘 스티그만 망그라네가 참여하는 라운드테이블 <기상! 혹은 출근하는 방법>이 진행됩니다. 11일에는 레히나 데 미겔의 <네키아: 영화의 강> 스크리닝과 대화 그리고 클라우디아 파제스의 퍼포먼스 <쥐와 바퀴벌레>가 펼쳐집니다!
Clear, Lucid, and Awake Public Program will take place over two days, on May 10 and 11. On May 10, the program will begin with a lecture by Chus Martínez the curator of the exhibition, followed by the roundtable Awake! Or How to Get to Work featuring Belén Rodríguez, Asunción Molinos Gordo, Diego Delas, and Daniel Steegman Mangrané. On May 11, the program will continue with a screening of Regina de Miguel, Nekya: A River-Film and a conversation with the artist, and a performance by Claudia Pagès titled Rats and Roaches.
