The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) has published the second half of 2025 edition of The A Report, featuring analysis by local industry experts from 16 Asian countries.

The A Report is a recurring publication under 'The A', an ACFM initiative that documents market trends across Asia from local perspectives.

With this latest edition, The A Report has completed both its first- and second-half publications for 2025, continuing its annual effort to document shifts across the region. Industry experts from Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam participated in the report, providing analysis of their respective markets. Drawing on industry data and local case studies, the report covers production landscapes, financing models, distribution climates, theatrical reach, technology and production services, streaming platforms and digital growth, and international co-productions.

    ACFM Director Ellen Y.D. KIM:
    "Even under difficult circumstances,
we once again confirmed the value of Asian cooperation."

The A Report and the conference program 'The A Summit' serve as the two core pillars of 'The A', an industry collaboration initiative led by ACFM. Through local experts' analysis and insights, 'The A' documents market trends across Asia while creating a platform where industry leaders can discuss key agendas and build foundations for future collaboration.

ACFM Director Ellen Y.D. Kim stated, "The first edition of The A Report, released last year, laid the groundwork for understanding the structure and flow of the Asian film and content industry. This second-half edition built on that foundation, sustaining the effort to exchange information and deepen regional collaboration throughout the year."

She continued, "During production, instability in parts of the Middle East disrupted communication with certain contributors, and at times the safety of our writers had to come before deadlines."

She added, "Nevertheless, the dedication of local contributors who delivered insightful reports despite those challenges reaffirmed that film and content remain a reliable basis for cross-border understanding and collaboration."

She also emphasized, "Through The A Report and 'The A Summit', ACFM will continue expanding connections within the Asian content industry while further developing the four core values of 'The A': Alliance, Analysis, Agent, and Art."

TIFFCOM Head of International Business IKEDA Kaori:

"A report that offers practical insight for producers"

Ikeda Kaori, Head of International Business at TIFFCOM, speaking on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival 2026, stated, "The A Report is an important project that presents the realities and market value of each country through concrete data."

She added, "It is especially meaningful in enabling industry professionals to deepen their understanding of each Asian market and share that knowledge across the region."

Ikeda further emphasized, "The report will serve as a valuable source of practical insight, particularly for producers."

Grounded in The A Report and 'The A Summit', ACFM continues to strengthen its role as an industry platform where co-production, investment, distribution, and business partnerships within the Asian content industry continue to expand. Last year's ACFM brought together 1,222 companies and 3,024 industry professionals from 55 countries, generating a total of 8,438 business meetings and cementing ACFM's position as a key hub for collaboration in the region.
