Forum “Super Human’s” “Super Work”
On February 17, Taejae FCI hosted the forum <“Super Human’s” “Super Work”: Exploring How the Synergy between Humans and AI is Reshaping the Meaning and Future of Work>. The forum explored how organizations and work will change in the future as AI evolves from a mere tool into a human partner, and discussed the new possibilities emerging from human-AI collaboration.

The keynote address was given by Professor Daniel Susskind, who has analyzed the impact of AI on the labor market and professions in books such as A World Without Work and The Future of the Professions. Susskind emphasized that human-AI collaboration will be a necessity in future jobs, highlighting the urgent need for educational and institutional preparation. |
|
|
The panelists were Josh Lee, founder and CEO of the cloud-based collaboration tool Swit, and Hangshim Lee, director of the Future of Work Institute at Konkuk University. Professor Lee emphasized the growing importance of human creativity and empathy as AI advances, suggesting that we need spaces for reflection amid AI's increasing productivity. CEO Lee noted that we're in a transition period where humans must discover their unique capabilities and redefine their roles to coexist with AI. The panel concluded by emphasizing that "Super Work" in the AI era is not just about getting things done faster, but about AI and humans working together in ways that leverage each other's strengths. |

The important question we need to ask is no longer "what can AI do?" but "what will we do with AI?” Remaining competitive in the future will ultimately come not from technology itself, but from our ability to enrich humanity through technology. This will define the synergy between humans and AI in the era of "Super Work." |

Taejae Future Consensus Institute 2025 Essay Contest |

|
Taejae FCI held an essay contest in February 2025 to hear fresh and creative ideas from the younger generation about South Korean think tanks and the security challenges faced by Korea in the context of the hegemonic battle between the U.S. and China. |
|
|
Following the contest, Taejae FCI hosted a meeting with the winners on March 21, including Yujin Jung, who won the grand prize, and Myeongkwan Hyun, who received the runner-up prize. Jung said that she has always been a fan of the reports published by Taejae FCI and expressed her hope that Korean think tanks will play a major role in creating a better future. Hyun mentioned that the contest gave him a chance to organize thoughts he had been pondering while studying foreign affairs.
Taejae FCI plans to continue engaging young voices through future programs. |

Taejae University Selects Students for 2025 Oxford-Stanford-Taejae (OST) Fellowship Program |
|
|
Eight students were selected by Taejae University to travel to England to participate in the 2025 Oxford-Stanford-Taejae Fellowship (OST Fellowship) between March 23 and 30. This specialized program was available to students from Oxford, Stanford, and Taejae University, and consisted of joint lectures by Oxford and Stanford faculty as well as on-site visits in and around the University of Oxford campus. The joint lectures covered a range of global issues, including sustainability, legal and regulatory barriers and solutions, artificial intelligence, and economic growth. |

Along with the theoretical training, students participated in three days of field visits to key change-making organizations in the Oxford and London areas. The evenings featured special talks by leaders in industry and academia who offered students deeper insights into global sustainability needs and practices. |
|
|
The fellowship program served as an invaluable experience for the participating Taejae students, providing them with the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and global industry leaders while building the foundations for their future approaches to sustainability. |

One Finalist and Two Preliminary Round Teams Selected for the Taejae Research Foundation-Weizmann Institute Korea-Israel Joint Cooperative Research Project (TWCJRP) |
|
|
The Taejae Research Foundation and the Weizmann Institute of Science have completed the main and preliminary evaluations for the first call of their joint research project (TWCJRP), reviewing a total of five applicant teams. As a result, one team has been selected for the main round and two teams for the preliminary round. |
|
|
The TWCJRP aims to conduct research on future smart cities and related industries, and will be carried out by joint research teams composed of Korean and Israeli researchers.
Through this project, the Taejae Research Foundation aspires to develop sustainable solutions for small yet strong cities of the future, while enhancing Korea’s research capabilities by leveraging the Weizmann Institute's outstanding research expertise and commercialization know-how, and by strengthening international research collaboration. |

Collaborative Research by Four Taejae University Students Selected for Student Design Competition at the 2025 CHI Conference |

A paper by four Taejae University sophomores – Dahee Chun, Dawit Chun, Yoonmin Cha and Lina Jellibi – has been selected for the Student Design Competition at the 2025 Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI). |
|
|
Submitted under the supervision of Professor Sung Park (Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence), the paper is titled "Watch-Out: Real-Time Tracking and Assistance for Wandering Alzheimer's Patients Using Wearable Technology."
The CHI Conference is widely recognized as the most prestigious international event in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and a highly influential platform for advancing research excellence. |

Professor Park and the students will be attending CHI 2025 in Yokohama, Japan from April 26 to May 1 to present their paper in competition. |

Taejae Future Consensus Institute White Paper 2024
Taejae Future Consensus Institute has published the Taejae Future Consensus Institute White Paper 2024, a summary of findings from research conducted throughout 2024.
In 2024, the world faced major shifts with the inauguration of a new U.S. administration, intensifying hegemonic competition between the United States and China, the worsening climate crisis, and a surge in technological innovation driven by artificial intelligence. |
|
|
Amid these changes, we at Taejae FCI prioritized nuclear security in anticipation of the new U.S. administration and conducted research into practical avenues for U.S.-China cooperation on this critical issue. We also explored ways to establish an innovative ‘Earth System Governance’ model to address the urgency of climate change. In addition, we focused on future industries that have the potential to drive new growth on the Korean Peninsula, and developed the Korea-Southeast Asia Cooperation Master Plan to promote industrial collaboration with Southeast Asian nations. We also built ‘Moiza,’ a digital platform equipped with all the capabilities required by a future-oriented think tank.
The 2024 White Paper captures Taejae FCI’s ongoing efforts and key focus areas related to building a sustainable future.
