Totally immersed! Preview the new "Love Realities"❤️‍🔥

Nowadays, more and more people are watching the contestants go out on dates, getting too involved, cheering on their love, crying and laughing together. Dating reality programs show love that can happen in reality, satisfying fantasy and reality at the same time and forming a consensus.

We will introduce you to the dating reality program 'EXchange', which is gaining popularity every day, as well as 2 Brand new for releasing programs.
📺TVING 'EXchange3'

TVING's original 'EXchange3' has generated a lot of buzz in just 3 weeks since its release and has completed its pre-heating campaign. In particular, Da-hye, a former member of the group Bestie, appeared under her real name Song Da-hye and attracted a lot of attention. EXchange3 is a dating reality content in which couples who have broken up for various reasons gather in one house to look back on past relationships, face new relationships, and find their own love.

'EXchange3' released its fourth episode on Friday, December 12, signaled the start of a full-scale transit with a date with the new participants (NEW), which stimulated memories of the exes (X) and heralded the formation of a full-scale love line. Now in its third week of release, the series has once again broken the record for the highest number of paid subscribers for original content in history, and is on an unstoppable box office run.

Since guessing the X couple is an integral part of the fun in the Transit Love series, where ex-lovers gather in a house without revealing who their X is, this season is also drawing a lot of attention with various speculations from panelists and users about the yet-to-be revealed X couple. Between X and NEW, there is a lot of curiosity and anticipation for the future development of where the arrow of the heart will go.

'EXchange3' will be released exclusively on TVING every Friday at 12pm.

📺JTBC 'Love siblings'

The romance of my own flesh and blood right in front of my eyes?

Han Hye-jin, Code Kunst, (G)I-DLE's Miyeon, BamBam, Jonathan, and Patricia joined forces with producer Lee Jin-joo to announce the creation of the first on-air sibling dating entertainment program.

JTBC's new entertainment program "Love Siblings" depicts the process of siblings coming together to find each other's lovers. Producer Lee Jin-joo, who set a milestone in the dating program scene with TVING's original series 'EXchange' by providing more excitement and emotion than movies and dramas, is raising expectations as this is her first program since joining JTBC.

In particular, siblings appeared as cast members in a dating reality show for the first time. A new synergy is predicted by combining the characteristics of the K-siblings, who stand by each other at crucial moments even when they argue about everything, with a dating program. The process of the siblings finding their partners together as they remove their rank badges for free dating, pretending not to know each other but actively lending a helping hand when needed, is expected to be an unmissable highlight. Love Siblings, a family-friendly dating reality show, will premiere in early March.

📺Mnet 'Couple Palace'

A corps of current couple managers will appear on Mnet's mega-couple matching survival show 'Couple Palace'.

Mnet's 'Couple Palace' is a mega-couple matching survival show that will become a microcosm of the marriage market in 2024. It is a real-life couple matching story with 100 single men and women looking for the perfect marriage, and it is said that all kinds of ideal types that can be met in the decision maker, including appearance, economic power, personality, and conditions have appeared.

It is unusual in the entertainment industry to introduce a hyper-realistic matching system comparable to that of the Marriage Information Company, which draws attention to ultra-close matching in reality. It clearly differs from existing dating entertainment programs in that current couple managers jump directly into real-life matching and provide relationship coaching. The Couple Manager Corps analyzes the conditions and data of the contestants and blindly matches them with the optimal marriage partner. In addition to the raw comments, it is expected to bring empathy and over-immersion in reality, as it is said that reality matching is done with high speed and efficiency, similar to a reality decider.

Couple Palace, which is considered to be Mnet's most anticipated work in 2024, is a collaboration between CP Lee Seon-young of I Can See Your Voice and PD Jeong Min-seok of Love Catcher. Here, entertainment veterans Kim Jong-kook, Yoo Se-yoon, and Mi-joo are listed as MCs in the lineup, raising expectations.

Mnet's 'Couple Palace', a matching survival show featuring 100 couples searching for the perfect mate, will premiere on Tuesday, January 30th at 10pm.

Bring your lightsticks to the movies!

Movie theaters have become the 'second stage'🎥

Movie theaters are evolving these days.

From performance films produced as "documentaries" of K-pop idols' activities, to "live films" that portray and show K-pop singers' concerts, and offline "concert live broadcasts"!

The number of cases in which non-movie genres can be seen on the big screen in movie theaters is steadily increasing.

K-pop fans at home and abroad are enjoying new pleasures by watching these fandom movies in groups.

As we look at the trend of diversifying the use of cinemas in the music industry, we will also analyze the reasons behind this trend.

The global hitmaking group Aespa, who have rewritten the history of K-pop with each album since their debut in November 2020, will also release the movie <Espa: My First Page> exclusively at Lotte Cinema in February.

<Espa: My First Page> includes a candid interview with Aespa from their rookie era to their debut, a live performance of his incomparable hits, as well as their first solo concert '2023 Aespa 1st Concert' SYNK: HYPER, and their presentation at 'SMTOWN LIVE 2022' where they participated for the first time since their debut. It is said to have vividly captured the behind-the-scenes of their stage.

This work is already raising the curiosity of 'MY' fans, as it is a work that allows them to see the brilliant growth process of 'Aespa', who has achieved remarkable growth by continuously releasing mega hit songs since his debut, as well as the record of his dazzling dreams.

On December 16th, the K-pop group SEVENTEEN held their concert 'SEVENTEEN TOUR 'FOLLOW' TO JAPAN'!' at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan. CGV and Lotte Cinema broadcast the live concert  on the big screen of the movie theater. SEVENTEEN's Japan Dome Tour showcased the excitement of a concert venue through live viewing (1,500 theaters in 66 countries) and streaming, capturing a spectacular stage filled with SEVENTEEN's explosive energy and unparalleled passion on a big screen and rich sound.

Even before SEVENTEEN, various K-pop stars' performances had already hit theaters several times.

It started with the June 2016 release of "BIGBANG MADE," an intimate documentary about the 340-day journey of their world tour "MADE" for the 10th anniversary of BIGBANG.

In September 2023, CJ CGV celebrated the 15th anniversary of singer IU's debut with the release of her first live concert film, "IU Concert: The Golden Hour," which brought the magical stage production from the Strawberry Moon hot air balloon fireworks to the drone show that can only be seen at IU's solo concerts to the screen, creating a repeat viewing craze.

In March 2023, singer Lim Young-woong's on-screen encore concert 'I'm Hero the Final' mobilized 250,000 viewers, and in March 2022, BTS' Seoul concert 'Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul. ' was broadcast live and sold approximately 50,000 tickets, and the live broadcast was shown not only in Korea but also in 3,711 theaters in 75 countries around the world, generating sales of approximately 40.3 billion won.

In addition, films starring Sechskies, Twice, BTS, IZ*ONE, Blackpink, Mamamoo, MonstaX, NCT, Shinee, 10cm, Kwon Jeongyeol, Astro, NCT dream, Winner, starred live performance movies, one after another.

Cooperation with the entertainment company is essential for idol concert movies. What is the reason behind the entertainment company's decision to produce such a movie?

First of all, it is possible to positively attract loyal fans to the theaters through unique content. This is because it can attract not only general audiences who like movies and go to the theaters, but also new audiences with other interests such as idols or performances.

exclusiveness cannot be ignored either. Live performance content presented in a documentary format has a different charm from actual performances in that it includes not only the spectacular performances of the artists on stage, but also the human and honest side of them behind the scenes through behind-the-scenes stories such as in-depth interviews with the artists.

Even in a situation where there is online streaming content, the reason for releasing it on a separate screen is the sense of reality that a big screen provides. This is because special technologies such as 4DX and SCREENX, which can only be experienced in theaters, provide a sense of presence and immersion that cannot be experienced by simply consuming the performance in a performance hall or consuming video through the use of personal devices.

Apart from the merits of this physical environment, it also provides a place and atmosphere where fandoms who love the same artist can watch the performance together and cheer on each other. It is effective as a space where fans can feel the bond between fans by meeting in person in one space (screening theater) and consuming videos of their favorite artists.

Lastly, it can be evaluated as reasonable from an economic perspective. People who cannot afford the cost of offline concert tickets, which range from 100,000 to 200,000 won, can watch the concert for around 50,000 won through a live concert broadcast. In particular, it has become an alternative for domestic fans who want to attend overseas concerts.

In a situation where concert capacity is limited for artists and their agencies, theaters become a window to generate additional profits. If only offline audiences are accepted, performance profits will be minimal, but entertainment companies can offset this with live theater viewing and online streaming, so it is a ‘win-win’ for both artists and fans.

By bringing the performances of various artists to movie theaters, the number of live performances and live movie viewings is increasing, so that fans who could not go to the concert hall in person, or who want to feel the excitement of the concert hall again, can meet the artists in a theater closer to their desired time. This seems to be a natural phenomenon.

Fans who were unable to attend the concert in person due to various reasons such as cost, distance, time and ticket failure can watch the performance in a theater that provides realistic sound as if they were invited to an actual concert, so theaters will be reborn as an axis of the K-pop platform in the future.

In this regard, the head of Lotte Cinema's Alter Contents team said, "A theater is a space that is most similar to a performance hall, so audiences can watch performances more realistically”. He added, "As audience satisfaction is high, live concert broadcasts are expected to become more popular." It was predicted that global demand would increase.

"What on earth?".. Will it be just a memory after 26 years?

It is known that SBS suddenly announced the cancellation of "In this moment, What on earth?" (hereinafter referred to as "What on earth"), and netizens strongly opposed it, and a debate broke out among them.

Among netizens who confirmed this news, the majority is of the opinion that it is not the right decision to immediately call for the abolition of a symbolic program without going through the alternative of reorganizing it.

In one community, netizens said "There are a lot of programs that need to be abolished, such as Dolsing fourmen, My Little Old Boy, Running Man, Dongsang, Same bed, Different Dreams, so why does this happen?", "Oh my God, this is the program my parents and grandmother watch the most... It's ridiculous." Also, there were a series of comments opposing the theory of abolishing the program, such as “Abolishing a historic national program,” “If this is not competitive, then there are many other programs that should be considered for abolition,” and “There is no such thing as pride in a flagship program.”

Meanwhile, some responded by saying, "There are many longevity programs that have disappeared before, so we can't give them special treatment."

According to a SPOTV news report on the 16th, SBS decided to cancel 'What on earth?' and notified the relevant PD on the 8th.

SBS recently unilaterally announced the cancellation of "What on Earth?," saying, "The program feels old and uncompetitive," and "Let's cut costs to reduce the station's deficit. The PDs from the Current Affairs and Culture Headquarters strongly disagreed.

On the 9th, a day after the PD in charge received the notice of cancellation, there was even a reversal of the notice of cancellation, saying, "The cancellation has not been confirmed”.

Commenting on this confusion, the PDs of the Current Affairs and Culture Department said, "We were only able to hear an official response from the director of the Current Affairs and Culture Department on the 12th”.

The PDs of the Current Affairs and Culture Headquarters said, "'What on Earth?' is a program where writers and producers develop their skills by dealing with stories about the world and people," and added, "The disappearance of the program will affect the talent training process of the whole headquarters and the problems of manpower and resource allocation. It is an important thing that shakes things up. He clearly expressed his opposition, saying, "A decision should not be made without sufficient explanation and persuasion to the members”.

The PDs, who said that they actively support the headquarters' position to fight against the decision to abolish 'What on Earth?', said, "Directors and CPs below the headquarters director must keep their promise to prevent the abolition of this program, which is a symbol of the current affairs and culture headquarters." “We must not forget that losing ‘What on Earth?’ means not simply losing a program, but also losing the members’ trust in the officials who lead the Current Affairs and Culture Center,” clearly expressing his position against the abolition.

Last year, the production team of 'What on Earth?' attempted to reorganize the program by moving it to the weekend evening time slot and adding the Singer DinDin as the MC.

Regarding the rumored cancellation of 'What on Earth?', SBS said, "Nothing has been decided yet. "As soon as the position is resolved, we will announce it."

Right Now, What on Earth? is a program representing SBS's current affairs and culture headquarters, and has established itself as a representative long-running program of SBS in both name and reality, having maintained SBS for 26 years since its first broadcast in May 1998.

MCs Lim Seong-hoon and Park So-hyun also boast history and tradition, having never left the program for over 20 years except once when they were diagnosed with COVID-19.

Of course, there is a strong tendency to believe that TV programs cannot keep up with the fun of OTT content, and there have been cases of broadcasting companies canceling long-running programs due to the situation of declining TV ratings.

There may be many reasons, such as advertising or ratings, but it seems a bit disappointing to suddenly announce the cancellation of the program.

Idol x actor chemistry! Exploring Music Broadcast MCs🔎

🎵 M Countdown

M Countdown has made changes to the MC team responsible for each Thursday night. In addition to ZB1's Seong Hanbin, who joined the MC line last September, Myung Jaehyun from Boy Next Door and Riize's Sohee were selected as new MCs, creating a 3-MC system. The production team explained the background behind the selection of the new MCs, saying, "We expect to create an even younger and trendier synergy with the new MC team, who were all born in the 2000s and are super rookies who have shown outstanding performance over the past year”.

Myung Jaehyun is a member of Boy Next Door, who debuted in May of last year. Boy Next Door entered the US Billboard 200 main album chart 112 days after their debut with their first mini-album, attracting attention with the song "What Does It Look Like".

Sohee is a member of SM Entertainment's new boy group Riize. Riize made a name for themselves as top-tier newcomers by selling 1 million copies of their first single 'Get A Guitar' in their first week of release. They recently made a comeback with their new song 'Love 119' and are showing great momentum on various charts.

Seong Hanbin, who was selected as the new MC for M Countdown in September last year, is the leader of the boy group ZEROBASEONE(ZB1), which was formed through Boys Planet. Zero Base One have received a lot of love since their debut album, with two consecutive double million seller albums.

Along with the renewal, Mnet's 'M Countdown' also unveiled a special stage featuring 3 MCs with new members.

Myung Jaehyun and Sohee performed individually on the stage one after the other, and together with Seong Hanbin they performed as a complete 3 MC stage with an all-time great combination that was as good as the year-end awards ceremony, making for a spectacular MC debut ceremony.

🎵Inkigayo

Last July, SBS's 'Inkigayo' said, "We are getting a makeover for the summer season," and Yeonjun, Park Jihoo and Woonhak took on new MC roles. The show continues to be full of energy thanks to the chemistry of three people who share the same positive energy.

Yeonjun returned as the 'Inkigayo' MC after completing her worldwide tour. She has been recognized for his pleasant hosting skills as the 'Inkigayo' MC for the past year, and has been a strong supporter of new MCs.

Actor Park Jihoo, who rose to prominence through his appearance in the music video for New Jeans' mega hit song Ditto, also took on a new challenge as an MC for music broadcasts through Inkigayo. As people are very interested in K-pop, they are actively progressing by revealing their aspirations for the challenge.

Woohak, who is known as a member of the boy group Boy Next Door, which was raised by Zico, is attracting attention as the youngest MC among the male hosts of 'Inkigayo', following the youngest member of the team.

In particular, Park Jihoo and Woonhak showed their refreshing charms by performing Newjeans' "Hype Boy" to commemorate their becoming the new MCs.

🎵Music Core!

NMIXX's Sullyoon, who was previously an MC, maintained her place, and actors Lee Jeong-ha, who appeared in the Disney+ original 'Moving,' and The Boyz's Younghoon, showed up to become the new face of Music Core.

With the spring reorganization, Sullyoon was appointed as the official successor MC to succeed Kim Min-ju on ‘Music Core.

Sullyoon, born in 2004, debuted in the music industry as a member of NMIXX in February of last year and is enjoying great popularity, earning the title '4th generation girl group representative visual' for her outstanding visuals.

Younghoon, who debuted as a member of The Boyz in 2017, has since received great love from K-pop fans at home and abroad through his album activities.

Lee Jeong-ha played the role of Bong-seok in the recent drama 'Moving' (2023), impressing viewers with his presence. In particular, he received a lot of attention because he had experience appearing on an idol audition program in the past, also it is the first time in 7 years since actor Kim Min-jae in 2016 that Music Core! appointed a male actor as an MC.

They performed a cover of AKMU’s ‘Love Lee’ as the opening stage.

As they have shown fantastic chemistry since their successful MC debut, I look forward to their harmonious combination in the future.

🎵Music Bank

Lesserafim Hong Eunchae and actor Lee Chae-min, the winners of the 2023 KBS Entertainment Awards Best Couple Award, are the MCs of KBS Music Bank.

Hong Eunchae is a member of Lesserafim, who made their debut in May last year. Lesserafim, who recently gained popularity through their collaboration with 'Overwatch 2', attracted attention when their first English digital single 'Perfect Night' spent 10 consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts.

Lee Chae-min is an actor born in 2000 who made his debut on tvN's 'High Class'. From Ive's Jang Won-young, who worked together for the first time, to Red Velvet's Seulgi, ITZY's Yoona, NMIXX's Haewon, New Jeans' Minzy, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and Lesserafim's Hong Eun-chae, who was selected as the new Music Bank Mcs on February 10, 2023, he had been MC with all of them.

They also created the couple name "Chec check" by voting for the nickname of the 39th Music bank MC. The show has received rave reviews from viewers for its brother-sister chemistry and warm, fluid, natural development.

To commemorate Hong Eunchae's joining as MC, they sang PSY's 'Celebrity', creating a 'legendary MC stage that will remain in Music Bank's history'.

Infinite's Sungjong announces the termination
of his exclusive contract with his agency
due to a "breach of trust".💸

Sungjong of the group INFINITE has informed his agency SPK Entertainment of the termination of his exclusive contract.

According to a media report on the 16th, Sungjong informed his agency SPK Entertainment of his intention to terminate his exclusive contract at the end of last year and sent several certificates. It is reported that the reasons for the termination include non-payment of the exclusive contract deposit and settlement fee, as well as a breakdown in trust between the artist and the agency.

According to Sungjong, since August 2022, shortly after signing the contract, SPK Entertainment did not provide the necessary support such as broadcast appearances, fan meetings, and album releases, and did not pay the contract money. They also turned a blind eye to refunds for canceled fan meetings.
"The company didn't provide any settlement data and didn't pay for the activities," Lee Sungjong said, adding that they also didn't pay for Infinite's activities and Asian tour last year.

Attorney Kang Yoon-hee of Won Law Firm, who is Sungjong's legal representative, said, "We have sent several proofs of content and notified the termination of the exclusive contract. The main reasons are non-payment of the settlement and the breakdown of trust. There was no human and material support during the period of activity after the contract, and they did not even pay the settlement amount."

It was confirmed that the representative of the agency has so far not given any official response to Sungjong's side regarding the certification of the content and has remained silent, saying, "I have nothing to say.”

Sungjong's side has made several attempts to reach an agreement, but has been unable to do so and has not yet filed a lawsuit, but is considering filing a lawsuit if SPK's CEO continues to fail to respond.

Sungjong debuted in the entertainment industry in 2010 as a member of Infinite. He left his former agency Woollim Entertainment in January 2022 and signed an exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment in September of the same year. Last year, Sungjong released his solo single 'The One' on Bird's Nest and also held a fan meeting 'Again, Spring'. He also promoted a new album as a full group of Infinite through Infinite Company, led by Infinite member Sunggyu.

However, one year and three months after signing his exclusive contract, his activities as a solo singer outside of Infinite have been limited to the release of one single, 'The One'. It is difficult to say that proper support has been provided.

Singer Hong Ji-yoon, who was previously with SPK, also filed for an injunction last year to suspend their exclusive contract due to a loss of trust over the delayed settlement, a complaint from a fan cafe manager, and a breach of support obligations, and was granted a court order to move to a new agency. .

It remains to be seen whether Sungjong, who has not received any compensation for his artist activities, will be able to reach an agreement with SPK Entertainment or whether this will lead to a legal dispute.
