Busan Story Market 2026 Unveils

Nine Additional IPs:

Five Thai Remake IPs and Four Hong Kong Original IPs!

Busan Story Market (BSM)—where every story begins—has unveiled nine additional IPs: five Thai titles in its new Remake IP lineup and four Hong Kong original IPs. BSM is operated by the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM).

Following its earlier announcement of 25 Busan Story Market Official Selections from Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and Indonesia, BSM will introduce a new Remake IP section covering the rights to remake completed films and present five remake IPs from Thailand, this year’s Country of Honor.

As remakes continue to achieve box-office success across Asia, the localization potential of proven stories has emerged as a key industry issue. The newly established Remake IP section is expected to draw strong interest from participating production companies, investors, and distributors.

The five titles span a range of genres, including horror, mystery, thriller, romance, and comedy, with each presenting a distinct concept with remake potential. Congrats My Ex! is a romantic comedy that draws on marriage, a universal theme that lends itself to varied interpretations across cultures. Happy Monday(s) offers a localization model for coming-of-age comedy based on a globally proven time-loop format. HOME FOR RENT is a thriller set in the home that taps into anxieties rooted in everyday life. Midnight Incense is a psychological horror film that combines the sensory motif of incense with Asian occult sensibilities, making it well suited for international remakes. My Boo is an emotionally resonant horror romance about a gamer who inherits an old house and forms both a business partnership and a romantic bond with the ghost who remains there.

The Thai Remake IP pitching session will be held on Sat, 10 October as part of BSM Pitch & Match - Thai Remake IP. From 11 October to 13 October, the five IPs will take part in Business Meetings with domestic and international film industry professionals to discuss remake rights deals and opportunities for international co-production. Online Screening for the Remake IP titles is also planned.
