Greetings from the GDLN Global Secretariat!
The year 2025 was another meaningful year for the GDLN community as our global network continued to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and capacity development across regions. In an increasingly complex global environment, the importance of strengthening partnerships and sharing knowledge around the world remains more important than ever.

Throughout the year, members of the GDLN network engaged through various meetings and collaborative initiatives. The GDLN Global Board Meeting brought together board members to discuss the strategic direction and future development of the network.
The meeting was held alongside the GDLN Asia Pacific Regional Meeting, providing an opportunity for members to exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration within the broader GDLN community.

🌏2025 GDLN Asia Pacific Regional Meeting
and Global Board Meeting

The 2025 GDLN Asia Pacific Regional Meeting and the 19th Global Board Meeting were held on October 28-29, 2025, in Bali, Indonesia, and were hosted by the Financial Education and Training Agency (FETA). The gathering brought together more than 40 participants, reaffirming the network’s commitment to global knowledge exchange and regional cooperation.

The Regional Meeting began with opening remarks from Mr. Wahyu Kusuma Romadhoni, Head of the Center for Leadership and Management Training at FETA and Prof. Haiyoung Yun, Chairperson of the GDLN Global Board. Dr. Evy Mulyani introduced FETA’s digital learning strategies, highlighting the Ministry of Finance Learning Center and blended training models led by the Polytechnic of State Finance, STAN (PKN STAN). This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Sheila Jagannathan on the essential skills for future professionals in the age of AI, offering practical frameworks for developing responsible, adaptive, and AI-literate talent.

Prof. Yun then shared global updates since the previous Board meeting in Davao, including the formal revision of the GDLN Charter and updates on the work of three new task forces on communication, partnerships, and micro-credentials. She also emphasized the role of individual membership in expanding participation, particularly in underrepresented regions.

During the AP Governance session, Mr. Vajira Abeynayake presented updates on the operational structure, reporting the approval of three new institutional members and 34 new individual members. He also highlighted revisions to the AP Charter and encouraged the rotation of Secretariat responsibilities among affiliates to support long-term sustainability.

The GDLN AP Marketplace featured presentations from nine institutions, including Blended Learning International, SEAMEO INNOTECH, and FETA. The programs focused on digital transformation, AI in education, green finance, and international training opportunities. The Marketplace served as a vital platform for sharing innovations and promoting cross-regional collaboration.

On October 29, the Global Board Meeting reviewed regional reports and discussed strategic priorities for the coming year. The Board acknowledged the retirement of Maree Tait and Aliou Mohamed during the meeting. Following this, Prof. Jennifer Aduwo was appointed as the new Africa Regional Representative.

The Board also discussed updates from task forces, including strategies for enhancing digital communication, expanding donor engagement, and evaluating new micro-credential proposals. The meetings concluded with a reaffirmation of GDLN’s role as a global platform for digital learning and inclusive development, along with deep appreciation to FETA for its generous hospitality and excellent organization.
