[CAS 2023] PARTY

Both days of Crypto Art Seoul will crescendo into a grand networking event involving domestic and international artists, builders, platforms and institutions. The parties that take place over the course of these two days will feature live performances and stellar DJ sets full of vibrant energy.

Hahoetal Masquerade is a grand networking event co-hosted by Crypto Art Seoul and The Sandbox. Attendees can wear a Hahoetal (traditional Korean mask) to network and make friends without any preconception. Filmmaker Chun Myoung-hwan’s Particular Film crew will mark the event’s transition into this late night festivity, with their jaw-dropping Talchum Nori (traditional masked dance routine) live performance.

Hahoetal Masquerade는 더 샌드박스와 크립토 아트 서울이 함께 만드는 네트워킹 파티입니다. 파티에 참석한 이들은 하회탈을 쓴 채 편견 없는 사교와 네트워킹을 즐길 수 있습니다. 파티는 천명환 감독의 크루 ‘파티큘러 필름’ 의 환상적인 탈춤 퍼포먼스로 그 시작을 알리고, 늦은 밤까지 당신의 흥을 책임질 예정입니다.

CAS 2023 will transition from the conference into our party with a traditional Korean marching band routine called Talchum Nori, performed by celebrated filmmaker Chun Myoung-hwan’s crew.

CAS 2023은 파티큘럼 필름의 수장인 천명환 감독의 크루가 공연하는 탈춤 퍼포먼스로 파티를 시작할 예정입니다.

Chun Myoung-hwan, Korean filmmaker, is actively engaged in both the domestic and international film scenes. He specializes in experimental genres, encompassing performing arts such as contemporary dance and traditional Korean mask dance drama, Talchum Nori.

파티큘러 필름의 수장인 천명환 감독은 국내외 영화계에서 활발히 활동하고 있다. 현대무용 퍼포먼스와 한국 전통 탈춤극 등 실험적인 작품 제작에 몰두하고 있다.

We have invited two of the most versatile DJs in Seoul to set the mood of the Hahoetal Masquerade. Expect upbeat house sounds with stellar grooves and a lot of soul; you can burst into dance with your new frens, or pull them aside for a chat without having to scream over the music.

Crypto Art Seoul is co-hosting an art festival with prominent galleries such as Gallery Hyundai and international galleries including Esther Schipper, Petzel, Tokyo Gallery + BTAP, and Lisson Gallery in commemoration of the 2023 Frieze Seoul & KIAF.
The event will feature a performance titled <Reading Newspaper> by the esteemed Korean experimental artist Sung Neung Kyung, engaging with 100 foreign performers. Additionally, there will be a music performance by Lee HeeMoon OBSG4BS, who infuses a contemporary sensibility into traditional Korean folk songs, presenting a diverse range of musical genres. The festival will also showcase performances by a musician 250, a well-known producer of the most popular K-pop girl group, NewJeans, and the project "Seeking the PPONG," which traces the essence of Korean popular music.

Sung Neung Kyung is a prominent Korean conceptual artist whose works embracing nontraditional mediums such as newspaper, photography, and performance broke the ground for experimental art in Korea.

성능경 작가는 1970년대 초, 한국 현대미술의 전개 과정에서 전위적 실험미술로 기성 화단에 변화를 모색했던 대표적인 작가이다. 성능경 작가는 신체와 일상의 재료로 예술의 탈물질화, 일상성의 회복을 지향하는 퍼포먼스 작업을 이어오고 있다.

Musicians who globally represent and innovate Korean music based on their Korean identity will showcase live performances and DJ sets on the stage.

Lee Heemoon is a singer of “Gyeonggi Minyo,” which is designated as an intangible cultural asset in Korea. Although he is an artist who is a direct heir to traditional music, in his own projects he combines folk songs with rock, jazz, and a variety of other genres to create a modern sound. He is a pioneer in the Korean music scene as a comprehensive artist who also creates and directs the visuals that match the concept of each work.

이희문은 한국의 무형문화재로 지정된 '경기 민요'의 가수입니다. 전통 음악의 직계 계승자인 그는 자신의 프로젝트에서 민요를 록, 재즈 및 다양한 다른 장르와 결합하여 현대적인 사운드를 만들어냅니다. 각 작품의 컨셉과 일치하는 시각적 요소도 창작하고 연출하는 종합 예술가로서 한국 음악계에서 선구자입니다.

Born Lee Ho-hyung, 250, the South Korean producer, musician, and DJ is known as the main producer and writer of the breakout K-pop girl group NewJeans hitting “Hype Boy,” “Attention,” “Ditto,” and “ETA,” songs that lean on eclectic, dance-forward beats and feel like an expansion of what the K-pop genre can sound like. He also has his own solo discography and profile as the producer and DJ received four major awards at the Korean Music Awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Electronic Song, and Best Electronic Album, all for PPONG.
